About Motion Timing


Motion Timing is a race timing company based in Lancaster Pennsylvania and has been the race timer for premier events in Hershey, Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, and in northern Maryland. Motion Timing has been chip timing races since 2009, using their knowledge as long-time race directors and collegiate Cross Country and Track and Field coaching and participation to provide accurate, and fast results that both race directors and athletes alike demand. The Motion Timing team is lead by Domenic Panza and Nate Caruso. Both were former track and cross country athletes at Millersville and Kutztown Universities, respectively, and have carried their joy and knowledge for the sport through Motion Timing.

What race types do you support?
Motion Timing is the race timer for road race events like 5k, 10k, Half marathon, and full marathons. Cross Country races are also supported from middle school, high school and collegiate events.

Do you support Chip Timing?
We exclusively time event with disposable chip timing technology as it provides the accuracy you desire and a much easier event to manage.

What services do you offer?
Motion Timing provides race timing services from registration to results. Every event includes chip timing and other services that match your needs. We offer course certification and virtual race result support, along with assistance on all race director tasks like online registration and race entry design and set-up, race registration packets, late or day-of registration training with volunteers, course certification, on site results with awards and result packets, easy to use course clocks and finish line clock, website promotion of your event, and online results.

Every race is unique, and should be treated as such with the services provided and the pricing model to match. We want to learn about your event and the goals, to help ensure we are aligned on your needs and structure pricing to match and help us grow together.

What technology do you use?
All races are timed exclusively using chip technology making results and awards immediately available. Motion Timing utilizes disposable D-tag chip technology. Each runner has a tiny chip on their bib that can gather their chip start and finish time electronically for fast and accurate results. Motion Timing utilizes the best timing equipment in the business provided by Chronotrack. To learn more about the technology we utilize, please check out the Chronotrack website at Chronotrack.com. We score each race using the RunScore software to ensure compliance with the latest NCAA and USA road running regulations. We also ensure that we have camera backups for any result disputes. Finish line clocks help your spectators see the times and finish line flag markings along with the timing mats make for an easy to see all weather finish line.
